The Training Professionals
By undertaking any driving lessons or assessments with a DTI Driver Training Driving Instructor, you agree to these terms and conditions. Your Driving Instructor will expect you to always undertake their instructions.
All our Approved Driving Instructors are fully qualified and will always display an official badge proving they are registered with the DVSA. This registration is renewed every 4 years and includes a DBS check. Instructors must also complete DVSA Standards Checks when required.
You must bring a valid driving licence (photocard or paper licence issued before 1998) to every lesson. It is your responsibility to inform your instructor of any changes to your licence status, including endorsements, points, or disqualifications.
You must wear suitable clothing and footwear and must not be under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or medication that may affect your driving ability. If your instructor believes you are unfit to drive, the lesson will still be charged.
All instructors are self-employed and handle payments directly. Prepaid lessons are valid only with the selected instructor. Refunds for unused bulk lessons will be recalculated at the full rate.
Bulk packages must be used within 3 months. Gift vouchers must be used before their expiry date. Formal complaints should be raised directly with the instructor or the DVSA if unresolved.
Lessons must be cancelled at least 48 hours in advance to avoid charges. Late cancellations will be charged in full. If the instructor cancels due to weather or other reasons, you will not be charged.
Lesson fees include vehicle hire, insurance, maintenance, fuel, instructor time, learning materials, and online portals. DVSA theory and practical test fees are not included.
Tests must only be booked upon your instructor’s recommendation. Instructors may refuse to take learners to a test booked without consent.
Any fines or convictions incurred during lessons are the responsibility of the learner. You must follow all instructor directions at all times.
Personal data is stored only for training purposes and will never be shared without consent. Data is destroyed upon completion of services. Some vehicles may use dash cams in compliance with ICO regulations.
Health guidelines may change. Hand washing before and after lessons is strongly advised, and vehicles are sanitised regularly.
Licence information is stored online at www.gov.uk/view-driving-licence. You may be asked to verify your licence using your licence number, NI number, and postcode.
